The City of Forest Park has issued a public notice that the Urban Redevelopment Agency will hold its next meeting in conjunction with the Downtown Development Authority and the Development Authority on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
A public notice on the city’s calendar notes the new meeting time and location as 8 a.m.– 5 p.m. at the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort, 4021 Lakeview Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083.
The Forest Park Development Authority meets the fourth Wednesday of every month in City Hall Council Chambers. Its job is “to promote the development of trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities in the City as authorized by O.C.G.A. 36-62A-20.” (Here’s O.C.G.A.’s 2020 code update.)
Development authorities are legal entities, separate from the city or county, that the local government sets up to bring in new businesses and jobs.
Members are appointed by the City Council.
