Clayton County’s own Atlanta Drum Academy takes the stage before a nationwide audience Tuesday night on “America’s Got Talent.” Tune in to NBC (that’s Channel 11 in Atlanta) at 8 p.m. and be sure to download the app so you can cast your vote.

Atlanta Drum Academy’s founder, James Riles III, picked up the sticks when he was a kid. He earned a music scholarship to Morris Brown College and wrote and played in the movie “Drumline.” 

The academy is open to both children and adults who love the beat. This week, local kids will take part in the academy’s summer camp.
