The Forest Park City Council meets at 6 p.m Monday, June 5, for its work session, followed by the regular session at 7 p.m.
On tonight’s agenda is a discussion of how repairs to the indoor pool are coming along. According to reports included in the agenda packets, soil conditions under the pool are not an issue, although crews did find one broken pipe that had been leaking into groundwater, as well as a problem with downspouts affecting one side of the recreation center. However, that problem can be fixed by replacing the existing downspouts, engineers said.
The city also plans to end its janitorial contract with Ascential Technologies after qht it calls “widespread complaints about the quality of their work. After numerous attempts by the Public Works department and the Procurement Division to bring the deficiencies to their attention, complaints by several departments continued.” The city plams to hire Lorean Cleaning Services “on an emergency basis for the following departments: City Hall, Human Resources, Planning, Economic Development, and the Council House. The funding will be spread amongst the various departments, until Janitorial Services for the City are reprocured.”
Also on the agenda: adding security cameras to the new Public Safety building, an agreement with Georgia Department of Transportation to maintain the city’s Flock license plate reader cameras, and the city’s medical plan and collection services.
