The Jonesboro City Council meets tonight at 6 p.m. at City Center. New business includes a a vote on whether to add two new part-time “citizen engagement specialist” positions, as well as a “double-time” policy for the Public Works Department.
This will be Mayor Donya Sartor’s first business meeting as mayor.
There’s also a public hearing on a zoning appeal, 23-ZA-001, for duplexes by property owner Dawn Massenburg / Community Home Ventures and applicant Canon Manley, on lots 3 and 4 (Parcels 05241B B007 and 05241B B007A) on New Dawn Court.
The council also will consider and approve unaudited financial statements for the operating period that ended February 28.
Action items on the consent agenda are from last week’s work session, including fee waiver for the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Women in Business Luncheon on May 12 in the Community Room. The council also will consider giving $500 to the Jonesboro Mock Trial Team to defray travel costs for the National Mock Trial competition in Little Rock, AR.
