Polls close at 7 p.m. for both Clayton County, City of Jonesboro elections

Candidates are making their final pitches to voters with just a few hours left before the polls close at 7 p.m. This afternoon, former sheriff Victor Hill was spotted at the corner of Tara Boulevard and Georgia Hwy. 138, campaigning for Interim Sheriff Levon Allen. The Allen campaign then began playing cat-and-mouse with reporters as word got around.

This morning in the City of Jonesboro, mayoral candidate Pat Sebo-Hand, city council candidate Arlene Charles, and a group of supporters from the Donya Sartor campaign were waving signs across from the polling place at City Center.

The Clayton County Board of Elections and Registration said “several” people had reported problems at precincts when they were told their registration did not come up, but that the issue was technical and had been resolved.
