UPDATE 11 p.m.: Morrow chief confirms report

Morrow Police Chief Michael Crumpler confirmed reports of shots fired Tuesday night at Southlake Mall.

According to Crumpler, someone fired shots into the air in the parking lot. No one was injured, he said.

In June 2021, a group of people exchanged gunfire in the mall parking lot, then moved inside.

In 2019, two people were wounded after a man dropped a firearm in the food court.

Last July, two men robbed a third man at gunpoint in the food court. A man was shot in an attempted carjacking in the parking lot outside the food court.

On Black Friday last November, Morrow Police tased a man who allegedly threatened to “shoot up the place.”
