Several local political groups have banded together to present a public forum for candidates running in the March 21 special election for Clayton County sheriff.
The event will take place this Tuesday, January 31 at 7 p.m.at Tabernacle of Praise Church International, 7086 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro.
All five candidates for sheriff have been invited to attend, according to organizers.
Those candidates include:
The forum is cosponsored by TOPCI and the Clayton County Democratic Party, Clayton County GA Republican Party, NAACP Youth Council, Clayton County Federation of Democratic Women, Teens 4 Justice, and Young Democrats of Clayton County. Attania Jean-Funny will serve as moderator.
Representatives of each group will pose questions to the candidates. Audience members will have the opportunity to write questions on cards for the candidates, as well.
The format is similar to that of the District 1 special election candidate forum in 2021. As in the past, the event will be livestreamed and The Clayton Crescent will bring you complete coverage.
