Clayton County voters can cast early and advance ballots in the U.S. Senate runoff starting this Sunday, November 27.
WHO’S RUNNING?
Only one race is on the ballot: the runoff between incumbent U.S. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, and challenger Herschel Walker, a Republican.
CAN I GET A PAPER ABSENTEE BALLOT?
If you hurry. The last day to turn in an application for a paper absentee/advance ballot is Monday, November 28. Here’s the application from the Clayton County Elections and Registration website:
Remember to print out and sign your application. You can bring it to the Elections and Registration Office at the Historic Courthouse in Jonesboro, fax it to (770) 477-4521, or send it as an e-mail attachment to elections@claytoncountyga.gov. You probably should avoid mailing your application to avoid delays this close to the election. Call Elections and Registration at (770) 477-3372 with any questions.
WHEN CAN I VOTE?
You can vote on these dates and times:
- Sunday, Nov. 27: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 28: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 29: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 30: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 1: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 2: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Your very last chance to vote in this race will be on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
It’s important to note that Clayton County will NOT have early voting on Saturday, November 26.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
Bring your official Georgia photo I.D., whether you’re dropping off your ballot or voting on the machines. If you requested a paper absentee/advance ballot and made a mistake on it, bring it with you to the polling place. An election worker will take the spoiled ballot and allow you to vote on the machines.
