CCPD issued this statement after a called asked for a welfare check shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday:
“The caller advised [Rose] was experiencing a mental crisis. During the investigation, officers learned that Jeremiah Rose was upset regarding out-of-state warrants. Officers learned Jeremiah Rose had a warrant for Failure to Appear for Aggravated Assault with a Weapon (3 Counts) out of Louisiana. Officers were advised Jeremiah Rose has several guns and a long gun inside the residence. After several attempts, Jeremiah Rose refuse[d] to come out of the residence.
“Please issue an emergency shelter-in-place public service announcement for this area as the suspect is now on foot and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Neighbors were not allowed to go home overnight, forcing at least one woman to sleep in her car.
