The Lake City City Council meets tonight at City Hall, 5455 Jonesboro Road. Tonight’s work session starts at 6:30 p.m., with the regular meeting at 7 p.m.

The council will discuss the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget and the Local Option Sales Tax. Clayton County School Superintendent Dr. Morcease Beasley will make a presentation during the work session. Other items on the agenda include a presentation on the community garden, and updates on events and projects.

The regular meeting will take up a resolution, 2022-09, to adopt the Comprehensive Plan Update. New business includes a discussion on a moratorium and an amendment to the Transient Merchant Permit ordinance.

This Friday, November 18 at 6 p.m., Lake City will hold its annual Tree Lighting. The public is invited and the city will provide entertainment and refreshments.
