Students in Clayton County Public Schools are required to have clear backpacks for the 2022-2023 school year. However, the school will provide these to students in need. Classes start August 3.
Parents who are able to do so are urged to buy their children clear bookbags. Both school officials and parents have noted that quality can vary widely, so be sure to select a bag that is well-made and that won’t fall apart after a week or two.
Clayton County is not alone in this requirement. Rockdale County Public Schools also are requiring clear backpacks this school year. Dekalb County Schools require clear or mesh bookbags.
