The Clayton County Board of Commissioners holds its work session tonight at 5:30 p.m. at 112 Smith Street, Jonesboro.
Highlights of tonight’s agenda include a legislative update from Chief Operating Officer Detrick Stanford, a review of county appointed board stipends, “particularly for the Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases Community Service Board,” by Commissioner Felicia Franklin, a presentation on the state of county facilities and a discussion of “next steps in developing the County Facilities Master Plan,” an economic development update from Erica Rocker, and a “status update on progress and new development with cost impact” on the Gilbert Road Project.
Asked to comment further on the board stipend issue, Franklin told The Clayton Crescent, “The work session item will be held at the moment. With all the mental health concerns in the community, the board members have had to put a lot more work in and we just need to review the stipend. However, we need to review all board stipend[s] so we will look at them all at once.”
