Clayton County Public Schools says parking will be limited at the Georgia International Congress Center for Class of 2022 graduation ceremonies, and that each car will have to pay $10 by credit or debit card to get in. Once the lot is full, it will be closed.
GICC has 2,000 parking spaces.
“Carpooling is strongly encouraged,” according to a CCPS press release. CCPS also suggests that spectators take “local transit services,” Lyft, or Uber to the GICC.
Graduating seniors will be bussed to the GICC. Graduates can return on the bus or go home with their families as they so choose.
Guests will need a ticket to get into the ceremonies, which school leaders will hand out directly to graduating seniors. CCPS says you should not visit schools looking for tickets to graduation.
“This decision is being made in light of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic continues and is in keeping with the district’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy event for students and their guests and our employees,” according to CCPS.
Masks are “optional, but encouraged.”
All ceremonies will be livestreamed via https://www.clayton.k12.ga.us/ and “watch parties for family and friends are also encouraged.”
