6pm: The Riverdale City Council has canceled its meeting due to lack of a quorum. The next council meeting is scheduled for March 28 at 6 pm, 7200 Church Street.
6 pm: Jonesboro City Council, 170 S. Main Street. Highlights: District 4 Commissioner DeMont Davis will give an update on matters in the district; MARTA will discuss “transit supportive land uses;” public hearings on 3 proposed changes to city zoning laws and 4 zoning hearings (vehicle repairs at 251 S. Main Street, package beer/wine sales at the Texaco at 190 Jonesboro Road , a pouring alcohol license for The Cigar Parlour at 171 N. Main Street, and a package beer/wine sale license for the Family Dollar at 8570A Tara Blvd.). The council will consider a fee waiver for Clayton County Public Schools to use Lee Street Park for a district-wide Student Engagement Spring Fling Event on May 14 from 11am-3pm. This week’s agenda packet (which contains supporting documents for this week’s agenda) is 501 pages, compared to the 833pages of the 1936 edition of Gone With the Wind. Watch online: http://claytoncountyga.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx Highlights: $3,114,460 for infrastructure in the Mountain View Tax Allocation District; convey 5712 Attucks Boulevard inMorrow to the Clayton County Land Bank; a $40,000 settlement agreement with Jacquelyn Wilson; authorizing advance early voting and Election Day polling places for 2022 elections: street and right-of-way improvements for Lakeview Commons Phase 1 in District 4. In zoning matters, TDC Logistics Company, LLC (Transwestern) wants to build a 265,200 square-foot, 28.6-acre warehouse and distribution facility at 5490 and 5544 Hwy. 42 at Forest Parkway in District 1 (Ellenwood). Both the Zoning Advisory Group and Planning and Zoning recommend denial. The parcel numbers are 12171C A001 and 12171A A002, owned by Makara Mao and Theng Real Estate LLC, both of McDonough. TDC Logistics recently built a warehouse on Battle Creek Road between Jonesboro Road and and Southlake Parkway.
