Clayton County is holding back the spread of COVID-19, as 50% of residents have at least one dose of vaccine, with 46% fully vaccinated and 37% boosted.

As of Sunday, Clayton County has lost at least 851 people to COVID-19, with 56,966 confirmed cases.

All age groups saw a continued decline in cases.

Of the 126 people confirmed to have COVID-19 last week:

  • 89 were unvaccinated
  • three were partly vaccinated
  • 24 were fully vaccinated
  • 10 were fully vaccinated and boosted

Of those 126 people, five were hospitalized:

  • One was unvaccinated
  • Five were fully vaccinated

Eleven people died of COVID-19 last week. All were unvaccinated.

Jonesboro and Riverdale together accounted for more than half of all cases in the county for the week ending March 6.
