Vernon Jones says he’s dropping out of the GOP gubernatorial primary, throwing his support to David Perdue, and running for Congress:

The announcement appeared on Jones’ Twitter account Monday:

Two U.S. House seats are up for grabs: one in the 6th district, the other in the 10th district.

Former UGA football star Herschel Walker has been campaigning for the GOP slot in the May 24 U.S. Senate race primary, as has state Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black. Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock is the Democratic primary candidate.
