Forest Park Police need your help to find a man who they say robbed the SunTrust Bank branch on Forest Parkway shortly before 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Security cameras caught sharp photos of the man, who wore a distinctive patch on the left shoulder of his jacket:
FPPD says the man entered the bank at 141 Forest Parkway next to Zestos and gave a teller a note demanding money. Police say he fled with “an undisclosed amount of cash.”
A spokesperson for Truist, which owns SunTrust, told The Clayton Crescent, “We’re aware of the incident and are working with local authorities to investigate the matter. To ensure the privacy of our clients, we’re unable to comment further on this specific situation.”
The suspect is described as a Black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a mask and black clothes.
The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Forest Park Police Department at (404) 366-4141 or the FBI Atlanta Field Office at (770) 216-3000. You also can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477 (TIPS); if your tip leads to an arrest, you could get a reward.
