A power outage shut down several Clayton County offices, including Police Sectors 1, 2, and 3, Fire Station 14, and Refuse Control Monday. County offices on Government Circle and Anvil Block Road were affected. Georgia Power crews were working to fix the problem at press time.
According to a county press release, “Power has been restored at select Clayton County facilities located on Government Circle and Anvil Block Road. All facilities will reopen tomorrow, January 4, 2022. Georgia Power reported the power outage was result of the storm and strong winds the night before.”
On Government Circle, the Print Shop, Technology Telephone and Radio Center, Animal Control, Fleet Maintenance, Fuel Station, Building and Maintenance, and UGA Extension offices were affected.
On Anvil Block Road, Police Sector 1, Animal Control, and the Sonna Singleton Gregory Senior Center also were closed. Gregory Senior Center participants can call (770) 347-0340 to reschedule today’s activities.
