Last day to request absentee ballot is Friday, Nov. 19

Forest Park voters will choose the city’s mayor in a runoff election on Tuesday, November 30. The runoff is between incumbent Mayor Angelyne Butler and challenger and former Ward 2 Councilman Tommy Smith.
Don’t wait: If you are registered to vote in Forest Park and want an absentee ballot, you have until Friday, November 19 to make your request. Call City Hall ay (678) 704-4784 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with any questions.
Early voting will take place Monday, November 22 through Wednesday, November 24 (Thanksgiving week), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Mary Ann Connelly Senior Center in Starr Park, 5087 Park Avenue, behind the football stadium. That is also when and where absentee voters can cast their ballots in the absentee ballot box.
On Tuesday, November 30 (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving), voting will take place from 7 a..m. to 7 p.m. at the gym in the Elaine Corley Recreation Center, 803 Forest Parkway.
The polls will close at 7 p.m. sharp, with counting of the ballots to follow. The public is invited to watch the count take place.
Should you witness any questionable election activity, you can file an official complaint with the Georgia Secretary of State’s Elections Office by calling (877) 725-9797 or by filling out the online form at https://sos.ga.gov/cgi-bin/EMailStopVoterFraud.asp . A state elections investigator may contact you about your complaint.

The official returns from the November 2 primary mayor’s race were as follows:
Butler and Smith, who advanced to the runoff, were separated by five votes. Ward 2 Councilman Dabouze Antoine and challenger Cliff Pellegrine were separated by three votes.
