Another 858 Clayton County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Jonesboro (249), Riverdale (167), and Hampton (78) saw the most new cases this week. COVID-19 hospitalizations jumped 25.9% this week.

111,272 residents (39%) have gotten at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while 94,468 (33%) are fully vaccinated.

The Clayton County Health District released these COVID-19 numbers Monday afternoon:

  • CASES TO DATE: 27,348
  • CONFIRMED DEATHS: 508
  • WEEKLY POSITIVE TESTS: 858
  • 7-DAY POSITIVE PCR TESTS: 15%
  • CASES HOSPITALIZED: 5.7%
  • FATAL CASES: 1.9%
  • TOTAL POSITIVE PCR TESTS: 15.5%
  • TOTAL CONFIRMED PCR CASES PER 100K: 8,884
  • TOTAL PCR AND ANTIGEN CASES PER 100K: 9,974

Black residents account for 57% of cases; 56.5% of cases are women; and 4,358 or 16% of all cases were children and teenagers 19 and younger.

Clayton County residents ages 20-39 make up 37.1% of COVID-19 cases.
