Although the Georgia Assembly’s joint committee on redistricting is not scheduled to hold another in-person session in metro Atlanta, you still can tell lawmakers your concerns about how the borders of new Congressional and state House and Senate districts will be redrawn.
The hearings are especially important this year because COVID-19 has delayed the data, which state lawmakers use to redraw districts. The decisions they make about where to draw those lines on the map directly affect the strength of your vote and whether you and your community are properly represented at the Gold Dome and in Congress for the next ten years.
These locations are where in-person hearings are scheduled to take place. You don’t have to live in that location to speak in person but you do have to get there early enough to sign up for a slot. And if you can’t make any meeting in person, the last one will be held online.
You also can submit written comments via  http://tiny.cc/RedistrictGA (we’ve shortened the link for your convenience). Written comments, like oral testimony, become part of the public record and provide evidence of the impact that any changes to your Congressional or state Senate or House districts might have on you and your community.
You can learn more about the process by reading our story from June 9.
