A $52 million distribution facility in Ellenwood is set to bring an estimated 665 jobs to Clayton County.

Freshly, Inc., a New York-based meal-delivery company, is expanding to a new 289,000 square-foot warehouse at 2823 Anvil Block Road. Hiring is set to start in 2022 for warehousing, operations, and maintenance jobs. The six-year-old startup delivers ready-made, ready-to-heat healthy meals to customers’ doorsteps each week.

Clayton County Board of Commissioners Chair Jeff Turner pointed out, ““With our unmatched access to major interstates, the Atlanta airport, and the Port of Savannah, we are the ideal location for Freshly. It is rewarding when our hard work in attracting Freshly and companies like it pays off. We welcome this innovative company and 665 additional jobs to Clayton County.”

Founder and CEO Mike Wystrach said, “We’re thrilled to expand Freshly’s footprint and operations in Georgia. Tapping into Clayton County’s tremendous pool of talent, this second facility will allow us to increase capacity for efficient assembly and distribution of our chef-prepared meals.”

In October 2020, Nestlé acquired Freshly for an estimated $1.5 billion.
