In a year’s time, The Clayton Crescent has propelled Clayton County into the local news cycle inside the Perimeter and brought the county into national and international media focus. With help from the University of Georgia Law First Amendment Clinic and Georgia First Amendment Foundation, we’ve won greater transparency from local government by holding elected officials accountable to the people they serve. We’ve been praised for our work by local community members, as well as by media colleagues, and Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism honored The Clayton Crescent with its prestigious 2021 Media Changemaker Award.

And with state and local elections coming up, we know the Atlanta press corps will be paying much closer attention to developments in Clayton County.

Your financial support will help us expand our staff and bring Clayton County more of the professional news coverage that it deserves. The Clayton Crescent is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3), is Bronze and Silver Star-rated for transparency on GuideStar/Candid (data updates are behind at the IRS but we have the letter to prove it and you can always call the IRS) and your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
