Clayton County Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver in a fatal hit-and-run incident around 5:30 a.m. February 5, on Highway 138 Southeast off Tara Road.

According to police, a witness said they saw a woman trying to cross the street when she was hit by a black Dodge Charger. The witness said the car slowed down, then kept going.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the Dodger will have “visible damage to the front right side.”

This was the second pedestrian fatality in a week in Clayton County. Another person was hit the night of February 3 on Mt. Zion Road near Fielder Road.
