A source told The Clayton Crescent that individuals with Georgia GOP credentials allegedly had followed Clayton County elections employees as they were picking up ballots from drop boxes. The source indicated the Forest Park Police were involved. However, the captain on duty said FPPD had had no such call all day.
We are working to confirm the agency involved, who the individuals are, whether they were with the Georgia GOP, and whether or not they were arrested or charged with any crime.

We are reporting from “The Bunker,” where about half a dozen election observers from the Democratic and Republican Parties are watching Clayton County’s returns on a big screen as they are entered into the statewide elections system. Everyone here, including (obviously) The Clayton Crescent is using electronic devices because no ballots are being handled in this room. Across the hall, behind a glass window, is the area where votes come in on digital storage media to be uploaded into the system.
Just before 7 p.m., two bipartisan teams of ballot adjudicators (one Democrat, one Republican, and one Elections and Registration Board member) finished their work and left. It’s not clear whether they will be coming back later. However, because there are no write-in candidates on the ballot this time, and because the ballot is so short, their workload is considerably less.
All figures are unofficial until the Board of Elections and Registration signs off on them.
Check back for updates.
