CORRECTION: test site is Laker Hall parking lot

Clayton State University and Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services are offering the students of Laker Nation free COVID-19 testing.

The idea is to help keep students from bringing the virus home over Thanksgiving break.

Maliyah Tindall, 20, who’s majoring in middle grades education, said, “I just want to make sure I’m good. I know I’m on campus and I’m more susceptible to it, so I’m going to go ahead and get tested.”

Tindall gave The Clayton Crescent permission to photograph her while CCFES nurse practitioner Sarah Rosario swabbed Tindall’s nostrils.

The test took about 10 seconds.

“It wasn’t that bad,” Tindall said. “My eyes are watering a little bit.”

Testing continues Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students in Laker Village and Laker Hall.

Students can find the mobile testing site in the Laker Hall parking lot.

Results will come back via e-mail in as soon as 24 hours, CCFES said.
