A Clayton State University student was shot about 10:34 a.m. Saturday outside Laker Hall after police say someone in a group of four people fired a gun.

The four, who were campus visitors, took off in a vehicle, which CSU Police, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are looking for.

Clayton State sent out a campuswide alert via text message to students at 11:04 a.m. to let them know what had happened, adding, “It is important that we remain diligent in following the campus policies and procedures for the safety of all students.”

The student was hospitalized. The Clayton Crescent has contacted Clayton State and CCSO for more information.
