In addition, voters who received a notice about issues with their absentee ballot will need to “cure” or fix the problem.
According to a notice sent out by Clayton County’s elections office, “State Election Board rules and Election Code provisions work together to establish a timetable for reviewing absentee ballots, providing notice to voters of absentee ballot issues, and allowing voters time to cure the problem with their absentee ballot.”
For voters who got notices between June 10 and 12, voters must reply by these deadlines:
Notice Date Wed., June 10: Cure deadline Mon., June 15, 5 p.m.
Notice Date Thu., June 11: Cure deadline Tue., June 16, 5 p.m.
Notice Date Fri., June 12: Cure deadline Wed., June 17, 5 p.m.
The county says it “has provided cure notifications to impacted voters via first class mail, e-mail, and phone calls. It is important that if you received a notification via mail, e-mail, or phone call, please respond to our office prior to the deadline.”
