Two industrial businesses that have been operating in a residential zone in Conley were unanimously denied their applications to be zoned into another overlay district in a nonbinding vote Wednesday.

About 90 people were present for the Zoom meeting, most of whom were neighbors who oppose the businesses.

The matter will go before the Dekalb Planning Commission on July 7, then the Dekalb Board of Commissioners on July 30.

An attorney for the business owners had submitted a letter asking to withdraw the rezoning request.

More to come.
