The latest COVID-19 figures from the Georgia Department of Public Health as of 2:25 p.m. May 6 show 844 Clayton County residents have tested positive for the virus, while 33 have died and 143 have been hospitalized. The prevalence of the disease is 276.87 people per 100,000 residents.
The Clayton County Board of Health also has released cumulative numbers for each municipality as of May 5. Jonesboro has had the most people who have tested positive for COVID-19 at 280, while Riverdale has had the most deaths, losing 11 residents to the disease.
Statewide, 30,671 people have tested positive. 204,137 people have been tested out of Georgia’s 10.62 million residents.
Of the 5.743 Georgians who have been hospitalized for COVID-19, 1,338 have wound up in the intensive care unit.
1,035 Georgians are known to have died of COVID-19 thus far.
